Card 1 of a sample batch, made with the generator on this site.

Who it’s for

  • Welcome dinners, drinks, or picnics the night before
  • Destination or hometown weddings with lots of travelers
  • Gatherings where guests arrive at different times

How to play

  1. Give each player a card and a pen. Players write their name at the top.
  2. Players talk to each other. When someone fits a square, that person signs it. Nobody signs their own card.
  3. By default each person can sign a card once and the first full row, column, or diagonal wins. In the generator you can allow two signatures or switch to “most squares in a set time.”
  4. Plan on about 15–20 minutes for a 4×4 card. That’s a suggestion; adjust it to your group.

Tips for hosting

  • Welcome parties are often drop-in, so use "Most squares in a set time" and announce a clear end time instead of first line wins.
  • Leave cards and pens at the entrance or check-in table with a small sign explaining the game.
  • Local guests are great signers for the "recommendation" squares; encourage them to share tips with travelers.
  • If guests receive welcome bags at a hotel, slip a card in each bag so they arrive ready to play.

  • Two cards per page fits neatly into a welcome bag when folded once.
  • Print at 100% (“Actual size”). More detail in How to print bingo cards on US Letter or A4.

Questions

Can I use the same prompts on the wedding day too?

You can, but most of these focus on travel and the night before. For the reception, the Find the Guest Wedding Bingo template has prompts that suit the day itself.

What if most guests are local?

Remove a few travel prompts and keep the ones about the couple and the area. Every card is drawn from your edited list, so the change applies to the whole batch.
