Icebreaker Bingo for Work Events

Work templates use neutral, everyday prompts so coworkers can talk without anyone feeling quizzed. Pick the one closest to your event, change anything you like, and print one card per person.

Which work template fits your event

  • Office Icebreaker Bingo: an all-purpose mixer for all-hands meetings, office parties and team lunches.
  • New Employee Icebreaker Bingo: helps new hires meet colleagues, and colleagues meet them, without turning into a quiz about the company.
  • Team Building Bingo: for offsites and retreats where the same team spends a day or two together.
  • Networking Bingo: for conferences and meetups where most people are strangers.
  • Office Holiday Party Bingo: end-of-year parties and winter socials, with prompts that don't assume any one holiday.
  • Cross-Team Mixer Bingo and Quick Icebreaker Bingo (3×3) are shorter variations listed below.

Keeping it comfortable at work

The prompts avoid pay, health, politics, religion, family situations and job performance. If you add your own, keep them to things people would happily mention at lunch, and remind everyone that skipping a question is fine.

Not everyone wants to walk around a room. Let seated players trade cards around their table, or run the game during a break when people are already standing.

Planning numbers

For a team of fewer than 15, a 3×3 card or allowing two signatures per person keeps the game moving. For 15 to 60 people, the default 4×4 card with one signature per person works well. Print one card per person plus a few spares.

Questions

Can remote coworkers join?

The cards are made for in-person play. Remote coworkers can use a PNG of a single card and collect answers in chat, but there's no online multiplayer version and nothing to sign up for.

Do we need prizes?

No. If you want one, keep it small and non-cash, such as first pick at the snack table. The conversation is the point.
